Welcome to all Friends of Concord Crew! We are committed to providing an all-inclusive competitive rowing experience for capital region youth. We are proud of our successes in our first decade and humble about the work yet to be accomplished. We hope this website provides the information you need to understand, join, and support Concord Crew: who we are, what we do, schedules, results, photos, registration information and ways to pitch in. Enjoy.
Concord Crew provides high school students with the opportunity to experience all the sport of rowing has to offer -- competition, team building, fitness, community service and, yes, fun. We are young athletes from the greater Concord, New Hampshire, area. We have a brand new boathouse on the Merrimack River, a fleet of top notch racing shells, an experienced coaching staff, and incredible support from the parents and friends of Concord Crew. We attend several fall races each year (usually including the Textile River Regatta, the NH Championships and the Head of the Fish), a full slate of spring races (including the Crimson Cup, the Sleigh Cup in Hanover, and the Saratoga Invitational), we travel to South Carolina to train in February, we run a youth summer learn-to-row program, and organize winter conditioning. We accept everyone. All rowers participate in each practice and every race. There is no "bench" at Concord Crew where we regularly exceed 100 athletes. HOORAH!!
Races will be held from about 8:30 through 11:00. We will also have the boat naming ceremony for the "Brooke Stebbins," the boat raced by the women's varsity eight. Come watch the races and honor Concord Crew's founder.
Concord Crew will once again offer summer rowing opportunities for both newcomers to the sport and those experienced rowers who want to work on their skills. All programs will be run by experienced Concord Crew coaches.
There will be two sessions of Learn-to-Row classes this summer. One session will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from June 24 through August 7, the other session will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from June 25 through August 8. All are welcome. Sign up fast as there are only limited openings.
There is also a program for experienced rowers to work on their skills. This session will be Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 25 through August 8.
All programs run from 5:00 - 7:30 at Concord Crew's Whittemore Boathouse, behind Everett Arena in Concord. The cost is $250 per session.
